Ohio State President Gordon Gee has made some pretty entertaining comments about the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Louisville Cardinals and the Southeastern Conference during a meeting with OSU’s athletics council back in December, and the comments are finally getting some attention. The Associated Press obtained recordings from the meetings where Gee showed off his stand up comedy skills and got a few laughs at the expense of other programs.

So what exactly did Gee say to get the chuckles and attention of the AP? Prepare for some laughs.

On conference realignment:

"The top goal of Big Ten presidents is to “make certain that we have institutions of like-minded academic integrity,” Gee said. “So you won’t see us adding Louisville,” a member of the Big East conference that is also joining the ACC.After a pause followed by laughter from the audience, Gee added that the Big Ten wouldn’t add the University of Kentucky, either."

On Ohio State’s negotiations with Notre Dame when they attempted to bring them in as a football school:

"“The fathers are holy on Sunday, and they’re holy hell on the rest of the week…You just can’t trust those damn Catholics on a Thursday or a Friday, and so, literally, I can say that.”"

On SEC fans who joke that the Big Ten can’t count because it has 14 teams:

"“You tell the SEC when they can learn to read and write, then they can figure out what we’re doing.”"

Comedy gold.

Not only does Gee have a surplus of fancy ties, he also has some quality jokes stored away.

Unfortunately for Gee, he was forced to apologize when the comments became public.

“The comments I made were just plain wrong, and in no way do they reflect what the university stands for. They were a poor attempt at humor and entirely inappropriate,” he told the Associated Press.
