Green Bay Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb is one of the best all around threats in the NFL, but he could be ready for an even bigger season in 2013. Aaron Rodgers was talking with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel when he made it clear that he believes Cobb is ready to be a real star in the league after totaling 2,342 all-purpose yards just a year ago.

I think he can be a 100-catch guy,” Rodgers said. “We haven’t had that here in a while. But I think he can. I think he’s a special player. As long as he can stay healthy, I think he’s going to be a big-time star for us.”

Rodgers credits Cobb’s hard work during the offseason and in practice for the reason he is able to have such an impact.

“He puts a lot of extra time in,” Rodgers said. “He watches a ton of film. He spent an offseason watching various slot guys that he admired and tried to pick things up.”

The  Packers are already one of the most talented players in the NFL, so if they can get even more production from Cobb they will be that much harder to handle. With the departure of Greg Jennings this offseason, Cobb will see more targets and that could result in the increase of numbers.

Since you have heard Rodgers’ praise, it wouldn’t be the least bit surprising to see the star signal-caller targeting Cobb more often than any other weapon.
