Roy Hibbert can expect a fine coming his way in the next couple of days. Following the game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals, the Indiana Pacers big man went on a little bit of a rant and also said some controversial things.

In response to a question about how he has helped Paul George defend LeBron James, Hibbert used a gay reference by saying “no homo”. He later reached out to Jason Collins, who famously became the first active gay athlete in American team sports, through Twitter, asking Collins to follow him as he wanted to discuss something. Presumably, Hibbert realized he was out of line and just wanted to make sure Collins was not offended.

However, it didn’t end there. Despite playing stellar defense all season long, Hibbert finished just 10th in Defensive Player of the Year voting, something he was asked about during the press conference. He responded with the following:

"“Y’all mother f****** don’t watch us play throughout the year to tell you the truth,”“So that’s fine. I’m going to be real with you, and I don’t care if I get fined. We play and we’re not on TV all of the time and reporters are the ones that are voting and it is what it is. And I don’t make it, that’s fine. I’m still going to do what I have to do.”– Roy Hibbert"

Well, one thing is certain — Hibbert will get fined for this. It is really a shame that Hibbert behaved like this, especially considering how well he has played in this postseason. Thanks to his great play, the spotlight has been on him a lot more, and up until Saturday evening he had conducted himself in a professional manner.
