Jason Terry of the Boston Celtics underwent an arthoscopic knee surgery on his left knee that was bothering him. According to the Boston Herald, the procedure was done in order to remove the plica from his knee.
"“The Celtics guard, who tweeted a picture of himself running on a treadmill in the Celtics’ Waltham practice facility today, had an arthoscopic procedure to remove the plica from his left knee. The plica is described as an extension of the protective synovial capsule of the knee, and can become irritated, enlarged, or inflamed if caught between the patella and the femur.” – via Boston Herald"
Celtics GM Danny Ainge said that Terry’s injury was bothering him towards the end of the season. All in all, the 2012-13 season was quite a disappointment for the Jet. He was brought in as an insurance policy for Ray Allen’s potential departure, but played a less important role that he was used to.
While Terry shot the ball pretty much as well as he ever has, he played less minutes and averaged just 10.1 points per game. Everything was compounded when he was brutally posterized by LeBron James when the Celtics played against the Heat. Terry has two years and over $10 million left on his contract with Boston.
