The Boston Celtics is dismantling it’s championship team. They’ve tried to trade Kevin Garnett and head coach Doc Rivers to the Los Angeles Clippers. And now, the face of the franchise, Paul Pierce is on the trading block as well.

One potential suitor is the Cleveland Cavaliers via the News Herald.

"“The Cavs have likely spoken to the Celtics about small forward Paul Pierce’s availability. The latest rumor is the Cavs offering their two second-round picks for the 35-year-old Pierce. Pierce’s $15.3 million contract for next year would become guaranteed if he’s dealt.”"

Why the Cavs and their youth movement would want to bring in Pierce is yet to be said. Surprising for a team that reportedly has “a deal in place to acquire Dallas’ No. 13 pick in Thursday’s draft.”

That leaves the details surrounding that trade in question. Certainly they can’t be offering Dallas any second round picks if they’re offering those to Boston as well.

They do have two first round picks, the number one draft pick overall and the 19th from Los Angeles. The could be offering Dallas that 19th pick plus some add ons to move up from that spot.

Right now the Cavaliers have 150-1 odds to win the NBA Title.
