The Sacramento Kings are looking in to the possibility of adding a second first-round pick, but they would have to be willing to dump a player in exchange for the selection. According to the latest draft and trade rumors, the Kings appear willing to part ways with guard Jimmer Fredette if it would mean picking up the second first-rounder.

Per ESPN.com:

"The Sacramento Kings are looking to acquire a second first-round pick and are using guard Jimmer Fredette as bait. Sources say the Kings have reached out to a number of teams in the mid-to-late first round in an attempt to secure another pick. Both the Indiana Pacers and Utah Jazz are potential destinations for Jimmer. Kings coach Mike Malone is enamored with both Tim Hardaway Jr. and Tony Snell, but the Kings feel that they can get them much lower in the draft."

If the Kings truly view Fredette as disposable and they can pick up a mid-to-late first round pick in exchange for his services, then it would be a win-win for the team as they load up on additional young talent and attempt to put it all together.

The Pacers have reportedly made pick No. 23 available, but the Kings would have to be willing to take on Gerald Green’s contract.

Of course, this could just be the latest rumor that ends up leading to no real move, but we won’t know until the next few days play out.
