The Sacramento Kings have a volatile center in DeMarcus Cousins who has been involved in several NBA trade rumors up to this point in the offseason.

The brass in Sacramento want Cousins to know he isn’t going anywhere.

Better yet, the brass want him to know he is the face of the Kings. Oh, and that they would love to start working on an extension soon.

Yahoo! Sports’ Marc Spears had the story on Twitter:

Rotoworld further elaborated on what it all means:

"Their visit was to tell Cousins that he will be the face of the franchise for the Kings. The team is expected to begin discussions on an extension with the mercurial forward in the near future. Cousins isn’t exactly the most stoic when it comes to reacting to unfavorable news, so the Kings are just letting him know that he’s not going to be traded despite how they’re attempting to rebuild their team."

Rest easy, Kings fans. Cousins is not going anywhere, which is probably a great thing to hear after some of the changes the franchise has experienced in the last few days.

Cousins is the face of the Kings. Potentially for a very long time.
