Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III has received the news he has been hoping for since suffering a torn ACL at the end of last season. According to none other than RG3 himself, doctors have medically cleared the former No. 2 overall pick to resume practicing. He will be suited up for the team’s training camp and ready to work towards returning to the field to start the season at 100 percent.

Griffin announced the news on Twitter:

Griffin is still set to meet with Dr. James Andrews on Wednesday to determine the extent that he can return to practice, so let’s not get ahead of ourselves and think that he will be returning to the practice field without any restriction.

It is still very likely that Griffin will be limited early on in the practice, but we will have to wait and see.

The good news for the Redskins and their fans is that the guy they hope will become their franchise quarterback is going to be available for training camp reps.
