The Arizona Cardinals are busy improving their team as they get ready for the veterans to report to training camp on Thursday. Earlier tonight the team was nearing a deal with Eric Winston, now they have given one of the best remaining defenders in free agency an offer after meeting with him earlier today.

Rotoworld reports that the Cardinals have offered defensive end John Abraham and what he would mean to the team if he’s picked up.

"Abraham, 35, visited the team Wednesday. Arguably the best free agent left on the open market, he’d immediately become the Cardinals’ top edge rusher if signed. Abraham has never played outside ‘backer in a 3-4, but the Falcons moved him around and stood him up on multiple occasions over the last couple seasons. He’d be a huge upgrade on both Sam Acho and Lorenzo Alexander."

Abraham has played with the New York Jets and Atlanta Falcons in his 13-year career. He’s missed just two games in the last six seasons, all with the Falcons, and has reached a total of 10 or more sacks in four of those seasons. His career high is 16.5 sacks set in 2008.
