The Carolina Panthers have a new general manager in Dave Gettleman. He didn’t make too many changes to his team, having faith in the pieces in Carolina. The Panthers general manager though isn’t going to be patient and he says it’s time to win.

“Cam has had the best two years of any rookie quarterback in NFL history. And everybody talks about the other young [quarterbacks],” Gettleman said, via Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer. “What he’s done has been completely lost in the sauce because of the elephant in the room – the 13-19 record. . . .

“Yes, he is. But now it’s time to win.”

The Panthers certainly aren’t the most talented team on the field and Cam could use some help, it can’t all be put on his shoulders. Gettleman didn’t come in and try to ruffle any feathers with head coach Ron Rivera by giving him a list of expectations, instead he is just trying to support him.

“I didn’t set any expectations. I think that’s a mistake. My goal was to put them in a position to be successful. … That’s been my goal all along,” Gettleman said. “I’m giving him all my support and he knows it. We have a very good relationship.”
