According to Adam Shefter on Twitter, Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Carlos Dunlap is currently sidelined with a concussion.

Dunlap agree’d to a 5 year, $40 million contract extension with the Bengals not too long ago. It’s not that big of a concern, considering the date on the calendar. The 24 year old defensive end out of Florida has 20 career sacks, 6 of those he picked up last season. We have learned in the last few years that there isn’t much more of a prognosis to give.

He will remain on the sidelines until he is no longer showing symptoms and is cleared by doctors. It’s something that can’t be rushed this early on, so he should get an extra few days to relax, but should be itching to get back on the field as soon as possible.

It’s his 1st known concussion at the professional level. Provided he stays healthy, I wouldn’t be surprised if Dunlap records double digit sacks this season. This kid is talented and isn’t even at his best yet. Which is really really really dangerous.
