Drew Brees catching heat for leaving poor tip at California restaurant

Let us all be thankful that the start of football is just about here. When there is no football, we often get stories that don’t relate to anything on the field and the latest victim was New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, who came under scrutiny for leaving a poor tip at a restaurant in California.
The Dirty posted a receipt from the Del Mar Rendezvous restaurant that showed Brees left a $3 tip on a $74.41 order. Brees began to take criticism for not digging deeper in to his wallet to help a restaurant worker that makes significantly less money than he does, but there is one catch that The Dirty tipster omitted from the story.
The tipster wrote “Check out what a cheap ass New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees is,” and sent in the following photo:
What they failed to say was that it was a take-out order for Brees.
Does anyone really tip on a take-out order or is Brees just a cheap dude? I am going with the former.
Let’s all back off of Brees for leaving a tip that is $3 more than we likely would have left on a take-out order and just focus on the fact that football is returning this weekend.
