The Miami Heat are all in on trying to acquire Greg Oden, and one former NBA player believes that’s the piece the team needs to win another championship despite conflicting interests with his son being drafted by a contender.

Tim Hardaway Sr., who is a scout for the Heat, said that the team would win it all again if they were able to bring in Oden. It’s just another positive sign that the former number one overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft will be trying to resurrect his career.

"The Heat remain committed to going after free-agent center Greg Oden, who is expected to make a decision soon. Miami coach Erik Spoelstra and vice president of player personnel Chet Kammerer observed Oden in a workout last week in his hometown of Indianapolis.“If we get Greg Oden, I think we will win a third (straight) title,” Heat scout Tim Hardaway said in an interview with FOX Sports Florida on Saturday."

One has to wonder what his son thinks, who was drafted by the New York Knicks this season and is one of the many contenders that will try to dethrone the Heat this season. Hardaway Sr. played with the Heat in his past and considered the Knicks a rival during his tenure there as a player.
