If you haven’t heard, Buffalo Bills quarterback Kevin Kolb, who is currently in a tight quarterback competition with rookie E.J. Manuel, slipped on a wet mat last week and injured his knee.

I’m positive some guys had to have laughed after that happened, I haven’t really heard of an injury that was caused by a wet mat but, I guess it is possible.

Anyways, Kolb has been absent for six days since tweaking his knee. It makes him highly unlikely to start on Sundays pre-season opener, so that should mean rookie E.J. Manuel will get the start in their first game.

Kolb opened up training camp with a bead on the Bills starting job, but has been doing all he can to force the rookie into the starting line up.

I’m sure since Kolb will miss this weekends game, it will give Manuel more time with the offense, maybe even some time with the second team offense. Maybe even a whole quarter of play with both offenses.

This incident may have given Manuel an opportunity to shine. We’ll see Sunday.
