Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay went on Twitter to apologized to the fans for a “crap performance” in this past weekend’s preseason game. The Buffalo Bills, who aren’t exactly contenders or among the NFL’s elite, smacked the Colts around en route to a 44-20 beat down.

One thing Irsay isn’t apologizing for? A crap season that led to the #1 draft pick and franchise quarterback Andrew Luck.

The Colts were out-gained 451 yards to 288 yards. It is just a preseason game and not really an important game by any means. That still says a lot about the Colts expectations this year as they look to build off a successful 2012 season despite all the adversity they faced. It was a home game and maybe that is why Irsay expected a better performance.

The Colts were 3 of 13 on third down, committed six penalties for 68 yards and had three turn overs. That could just be a sign of expectations in Indianapolis as the Colts look to build upon a successful 2012 season despite the adversity the team faced.

The Indianapolis Colts take on the New York Giants, a tougher opponent, in next week’s preseason match up.
