There are always folks speculating about whether or not Phil Jackson will return to the NBA sideline for one final run at an NBA championship. Jackson recently spent time with his local media where the question about coaching came up, but he seemed very convincing that there was no itch to return.

From Mark Jones of the Williston Herald:

"Williston High School graduate Phil Jackson was in town this weekend for his 50th high school class reunion as well as to speak at the Banquet of Champions for the 13-year-old Babe Ruth World Series.During the press conference, Jackson made it clear he has no intentions of returning to coach.“I have no intention of coaching,” he said. “I am still recovering from multiple surgeries.”Jackson is currently experiencing back problems, which require him to use a walking cane."

Hopefully this will put an end to Jackson Watch if any attractive job openings become available next season.

Of course, there will also be team’s dreaming that Jackson would come back and lead them on one final run before officially calling it a career, but he seems more than content staying away from the game at this time.

The most interesting thing to watch will be to see if Jackson could resist an urge to return if the Lakers are able to land LeBron James and another star in the summer of 2014.
