More cuts have been announced today following the third preseason game, also known as the regular season’s dress rehearsal.

The list of players the Buffalo Bills released:

  • Da’Rick Rogers, wide receiver
  • Demarco Sampson, wide receiver
  • Ryan Turnley, center
  • Jumal Rolle, cornerback
  • Dominique Ellis, defensive back

USA Today’s Tom Pelissero speculated that the Bills could decide to keep Da’Rick Rogers on their practice squad.

Da’Rick Rogers was a undrafted free agent out of Tennessee Tech. He played at the University of Tennessee and looked to have a promising career. As a true freshman in 2010 he played in all 13 games, but only caught 11 passes for 167 yards and two touchdown passes. He got some work in the rushing game too carrying the ball 16 times for 117 yards and returned 12 kick offs for 298 yards.

His sophomore season was a breakout year with 67 yards and 1,040 yards, both numbers led the SEC and earned him an All-SEC selection. His junior season he was suspsneded from the Vols for a violation of team rules, which Rogers later admitted was due to failed drug tests. He than transferred to Tennessee Tech.

Earlier the New York Jets released 14 players and the Philadelphia Eagles released 11 players.
