The NFL teams cut down to their final 53-man roster on Saturday and they continue to make roster moves in advance of the regular season to round out their practice squad, which is a crucial place for a young player to be as they continue to develop and hope that they will one day be promoted to the active roster.

For the Carolina Panthers, seven players made the cut.

Here are the players that the Panthers added to their practice squad for the upcoming season:

WR Brenton Bersin, LB Ben Jacobs, S Robert Lester, RB Tauren Poole, DE Craig Roh, WR James Shaw, DT Casey Walker

The most notable name on the practice squad is defensive back Robert Lester, who has plenty of talent, but a lot of work to do before he is ready for a regular season appearance. On the Panthers practice squad, Lester will be able to continue to develop while he lives out his dream of being in the NFL and one day hopefully get the promotion he is seeking.
