Pittsburgh Steelers sign Zoltan Mesko
By Josh Sanchez

The New England Patriots made a bit of a surprise cut over the weekend when they decided to part ways with punter Zoltan Mesko. No one expected Mesko to last long on the waiver wire and that is exactly how it all played out with the Pittsburgh Steelers signing the punter just a few days after his release.
Mike Garofolo of Fox Sports passed along the news of the signing.
One thing we know about the Pittsburgh fans is that they will love having a player named Zoltan on the roster — especially those fans that double as Pirates fans.
Drew Butler was previously set to start at punter for the Steelers after beating out Brian Moorman during camp, but Mesko now takes over the duties and immediately improves the Steelers special team unit that struggled greatly at times throughout the preseason.
For his career, Mesko has a 44.2-yard gross average and a 39.5-yard net average.
As Rich Eisen would say, “He’s not a punter. He’s a weapon.”
