The New York Jets have listed Santonio Holmes as “questionable” on their final injury report friday prior to their game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon.

Holmes was not able to practice at all on Thursday and was limited in his activities on Friday.

This was not news that the Jets fans wanted to hear with an already thin wide receiving corps for rookie Geno Smith’s first professional game. Holmes is one of the few options that Smith will have this season with prior substantial experience.

Mark Sanchez has also been officially ruled out for Sunday’s game which comes as no surprise after his shoulder injury during the preseason.

The Jets defense also suffered a hit as linebacker Quinton Coples will be inactive with an ankle injury.

Tight end Kellen Winslow and Antonio Cromartie are expected to play as they have been listed as probable on the injury report.
