The Dallas Cowboys suffered a lot of injuries in their season opener against the New York Giants. Fortunately none of them seem to be too serious and Jerry Jones gave some updates while on the New School show on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM].

On QB Tony Romo: “He’s sore. He was [at Valley Ranch] yesterday. I personally had a visit with him yesterday, and we’re all planning on him playing in the game.”

On WR Dez Bryant: “We’ve had it X-Rayed and we think that at least as of last night, we think that it will be something that we will watch this week, but he can play with this week.”

On CB Morris Claiborne: “That’s the one we’ll have to keep a real eye on. That’s according to what degree it slipped out. They had to put it back in. We’ll probably have to brace that up pretty good. There’s a good chance that he’ll go.”

Guard Brian Waters and defensive end Anthony Spencer both missed the season opener and are hopeful for week 2.

“I hope that both can take snaps this week and really have us thinking they can take snaps against Kansas City,” Jones said. “That would be the best thing right now. We don’t want to bring Spencer along any faster than we have to. But he sure had a good last two or three days before we stopped Sunday.

“The same thing with Waters. Waters was actually amazing that he was able to move and have some of the football things that you have to do, apart from just his endurance. I think there’s a chance he could play some, too.”
