Tensions between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, mainly head coach Greg Schiano, and quarterback Josh Freeman are high. This has led to reports that Freeman will seek a trade before the October trade deadline.

Still there has to be more to this than hostility for his quarterback oversleeping and missing a team photo.

“Basically I overslept,” Freeman explained. “Point blank.”

There have been rumors of Schiano rigging the captains’ vote, which he did not win. Freeman denied speculation that the vote was rigged.

“I think Vincent Jackson deserves every bit of the captain spot,” Freeman said. “I feel like the talk about me not being a captain kind of takes away from the honor of those guys being captains. Do I want to be captain? Yeah, sure. But it’s not something that’s going to make or break anyone.”

It is an interesting situation to watch unfold in Tampa Bay.
