In week one against the New York Jets, Goldson delivered a big hit to Jets wide receiver Jeff Cumberland. That hit, classified as a helmet-to-helmet hit as well resulted in a $30,000 fine. Obviously that didn’t deter Goldson or make him feel the urge to be more cautious this past Sunday.
Fining a player for helmet-to-helmet two weeks in a row doesn’t show much promise in changing his behavior on the field. Since 2010, Goldson leads the league in personal fouls with 15, including multiple helmet-to-helmet hits.
Since 2010, Bucs S Dashon Goldson has 15 personal fouls, more than any NFL player. The one Sunday might be tipping point.
