When Ed Reed decided it was time to move on from the Baltimore Ravens, I was a little bit surprised. But signing with Houston was an even bigger surprise.

Everybody knew Ray Lewis was set to leave the Ravens and retire, but what about Ed Reed? Reed has been in the long for almost 12 seasons already and has battled some major injuries.

The 35 year old safety and the Houston Texans will travel to Baltimore to play the Ravens. This will be the first time Reed will be back in Baltimore since the Super Bowl parade back in February. Right now his status for the game is probable as he’s not ready to return to action just yet.

I wonder what type of reaction he’ll get out of the fans of his former team. He’s done so much for that organization, it’ll be a shame if they welcome him with a wave of boo’s. I know he’ll be embraced by his former teammates just like James Harrison was on Monday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Whether he’s in uniform or not, I’m sure he’ll be soaking up some of the love he should receive on Sunday.

No official word yet on when the veteran safety will make his debut for the Houston Texans, but I have a feeling it should be sometime soon.
