You may struggle to find a tougher guy in Week 3 of the 2013-14 NFL regular season than Arizona Cardinals safety Rashad Johnson. During the team’s blowout loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday afternoon, Johnson suffered a brutal finger injury but continued to play.

Johnson severed the tip of his middle finger, which he didn’t realize until after he took off his glove and noticed his finger stayed inside. However, when the injury happened, he just had it taped up and continued to play the game.

If that doesn’t get you to bad ass status, than I don’t know will.

Johnson said that he believes he injured his finger while attempting to tackle Darren Sproles on a punt return and Leah Goldman of Business Insider passed along a GIF of the play where it all went down.

Here is the play where Johnson believes he was injured:

Johnson comes flying in to make the tackle, but just misses after getting his hands on Sproles.

Immediately after he hits the ground, you can see Johnson quickly glance down at his hand. Little did he know, that was the last he’d ever be connected to the tip of his middle finger.
