The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have finally done it, they’ve decided to bench Josh Freeman and start Mike Glennon at quarterback. Freeman has been dreadful, completing 43 of 94 passes (45.7%) for 571 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. With those kind of numbers, why not let the rookie get in there and try his hand out.

The news comes as a bit of a shock because of head coach Greg Schiano’s stance that he wasn’t changing quarterbacks. In fact, just earlier this week he reiterated that Freeman is the Bucs quarterback.

“No, there wasn’t,” Schiano said about any thoughts about benching Freeman for Glennon after Sunday’s game.

“When you have a situation that you have control over and you don’t make it, then you are living on borrowed time,” he said, via NFL.com.

There were rumors that Freeman was asking for a trade as well. Freeman denied those reports though.
