The Central Florida Knights are coming off of a landmark road victory over the Penn State Nittany Lions on September 14. The Knights upset the Nittany Lions 34-31 in what was among the biggest victories in program history.

After a bye week, the Knights aim to get an even biggest victory Saturday afternoon when they host the 12th ranked South Carolina Gamecocks (In fact, one FanSided writer has the Gamecocks on upset alert). The Gamecocks enter the game with a record of 2-1, most recently knocking off the Vanderbilt Commodores on September 14.

Looking to defeat an SEC team, the Knights can’t have any distractions or miss any major pieces. Unfortunately, they’re going to have to deal with both.

UCF Junior linebacker Willie Mitchell was arrested for driving under the influence earlier this month and has been “suspended indefinitely.”

According to UCF head coach George O’Leary, “Mitchell is suspended pending the outcome of a hearing in front of UCF’s Office of Student Conduct.”

Mitchell, who was arrested and charged on September 7, also missed the victory over the Nittany Lions.

The Knights and Gamecocks will kick off at noon EST Saturday.
