The surprising 2-1 New York Jets will once again be without two players who they were counting on to be significant players for the this year, which makes their 2-1 start that much more surprising.

Running back Chris Ivory and cornerback Dee Milliner have both been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans.

Ivory, who the team traded for this offseason to be their bell-cow back,  hurt his hamstring in last week’s victory over the Buffalo Bills and did not practice all week as a result. There’s no timetable for his return, which leaves backfield duties to Bilal Powell and Alex Green.

Milliner, the ninth overall pick out of Alabama and projected replacement for All-Pro CB Darrelle Revis,  was injured in practice earlier this week and did not practice on Thursday or Friday. Milliner doesn’t have a timetable either for return, but he wasn’t exactly getting a lot of playing time when he was healthy, as he’s looked lost in coverage and is struggling with Rex Ryan’s complex defensive schemes, and this will likely go down as a lost year for the top-10 pick.
