Pittsburgh Pirates fandom has reached new levels, understandably after a 21+ year postseason drought.

The Pirates defeated the Cincinnati Reds in the National League Wild Card game on Tuesday, and face fellow NL Central foe St. Louis today in game one of the National League Division Series.

One hospital in the Pittsburgh area is showing their support for the Buccos in a rather unique way.  All newborn babies at St. Clair Hospital in Mt. Lebanon will be adorned with Pittsburgh Pirates gear for the remainder of Pittsburgh’s stay in the playoffs.

In a statement from the hospital, per the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, they explained the new policy.

“Starting today, we’re ensuring the area’s newest Pirates’ fans won’t have to wait their whole lives to celebrate postseason play. Today through the rest of the postseason, our ‘Bucco Babies’ will be sporting Pirates’ onesies and baby-sized baseball bats.”

It has already begun.  St. Clair’s posted these pictures of the Pirate fan youngins’ to their Twitter account today.

So fear not Pirates nation, the youth are being indoctrinated literally at first opportunity, and the future of your fan base looks to be strong for the foreseeable future.

Pittsburgh and the St. Louis Cardinals start off the NL Division series Thursday at 5:07 p.m. ET.
