The New York Giants can’t catch a break it seems like. Earlier today their prone-to-fumbling running back David Wilson left the game with an injury. That forced running back Brandon Jacobs onto the field.

Eli Manning was dropping back to pass and slipped for no apparent reason, other than his foot sliding. Then Brandon Jacobs fumbled the ball without being touched.

It is unclear how be loses control of the ball. As he approaches the hole he appears to be letting go of the ball with one hand. Why he’d choose that moment to let go of the ball with two hands is odd. Normally when going through a congested hole you want two hands on the ball. When letting go with his left hand the ball comes out.

It almost looks like his left hand is the reason the ball came out. Instead of  having the ball in his elbow it is in his hand and his hand being removed pulls it lose.

The Giants didn’t recover the fumble, it was recovered my Eagles linebacker Mychal Kendricks.
