The Carolina Panthers are taking on the Minnesota Vikings today in the Metrodome. The Panthers are running away with the game too. The Panthers went into the game with a 14-3 lead.

On the first drive of the second half the Panthers struck again. It was 3rd and 3 from the Panthers’ 21 yard line. That is when Cam Newton threw a deep pass to Brandon LaFell.

LaFell was running down the side line and had some Vikings defenders closing in on him, like Xavier Rhodes. Panthers wide receiver Ted Ginn, Jr. was down field and ready to help out. Rhodes, who had the best chance to catch LaFell, was focused on the receiver and didn’t see Ted Ginn coming.

It doesn’t look like a helmet-to-helmet hit, maybe the defenseless receiver rule. There was no call on the play however and the touchdown counted to give the Panthers a 21-3 lead over the Vikings.
