Following the New York Jets big win over the New England Patriots in Week 7, a video went viral that showed a man punching a female Patriots fan in the head. Since the video has surfaced, the man has been identified as Kurt Paschke, 38.

As it turns out, Pashke previously served nearly four years in prison for fatally stabbing a 17-year-old back in the 1990s.

Pachke’s mother interviewed with the New York Post and shed some light on the incident, saying that her son was just defending himself:

"“He didn’t deliberately hit the girl, he was simply being defensive,’’ said Paschke’s mom, Colleen.“There was a group of Patriots fans antagonizing our friends the whole game … game . . . They were drunk and out of control.“Our friends were in the same row and, for instance, they were even making fun of a girl because she just gotten braces.“As my son and I were leaving, the group came charging from behind and said, ‘Let’s get them.’“Then the girl [on the video] was throwing three punches at my son … and with that, my son is just trying to protect himself and me.’’"

Unfortunately for Pachke, his past and the fact that he hit a woman will not be ignored because of the feel-good story from his mother.

There is a chance that charges could be handed down today and we hope that they are.

As for the Jets, they should make sure that Pachke never steps foot in the stadium again and hand him a lifetime ban.
