Logan Ryan fined for his crotch-grabbing celebration

New England Patriots cornerback Logan Ryan was fined $10,000 for his touchdown celebration on Sunday (See GIF of it below). As he was running into the end zone he stopped at the goal line and dove in backwards while grabbing his crotch. It was a homage to Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch who celebrated in a similar fashion after that famous “Beast Mode” run against the New Orleans Saints.
Like Lynch, Ryan had completed a long, yet less impressive, run to score. He wasn’t flagged on the play either. Nevertheless, he’ll probably think twice about his next celebration though. $10,000 a touchdown is a lot of money.
“I don’t want to get into too much detail talking about that, but there are certain things that come over the season that we have to handle in-house, and I think that’s one of those things,” special teams captain Matthew Slater said earlier this week regarding the incident, via the Boston Herald. “He’s a great kid, and he’s been nothing but respectful since he’s gotten here. That’s something we just have to handle in-house.”
