There were initially reports that the St. Louis Rams had discussed reaching out to Tim Tebow after starting quarterback Sam Bradford went down with an injury, but it looks like the team had someone else in mind to take over the job.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Rams reached out to the one and only Brett Favre to see if he had any interest in the job. The team went on to sign Brady Quinn and Austin Davis after Favre said that he had no interest.

In fact, Favre said on the radio that there is “no way in hell” he would be returning.

“It’s flattering,” he said, via the Washington Post, “but there’s no way in hell I’m going to do that.”

If Favre was ever going to return to the league, he wouldn’t do so for a team as bad as the Rams. However, if a contending team would come calling, it wouldn’t surprise anyone if Favre was willing to listen. But the Rams, really? They would have had better luck with someone as desperate as Tebow.
