Andre Ellington receiving high praise from Cardinals head coach
By Josh Sanchez
The Arizona Cardinals have been very pleased with rookie running back Andre Ellington after he received he went off for a big time performance in Week 8, so it only makes sense that the team is looking to get their new rusher more involved in the offensive gameplan.
Ellington is a smaller back, which has led to head coach Bruce Arians drawing comparisons to another shifty, small running back that has made a nice place for himself in the NFL.
“I hate to compare players, but I think Andre’s role is more like Darren Sproles,” Arians said during an appearance on ESPN. “He’s a very unique player. Could he carry the load? Probably, 15-20 carries a game. But you want a lot of his touches to be out in space because he is so dynamic.”
Ellington rushed for 154 yards last week during last week’s upset win over the Atlanta Falcons and the team hopes they can continue to that type of quality production out of their budding star.
