The Denver Broncos’ offense has been fantastic all year, we can all agree on that. With weapons the likes of Peyton Manning, Julius Thomas, Demaryius Thomas and Wes Welker–not to mention some talented running backs–this really isn’t any surprise they’ve become one of the most potent offenses in the league.
But, tonight, they’re facing off against one of the best defenses in the NFL in the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs.
One of the reasons that the Chiefs have been so successful on defense is their physicality. They have a slew of gentlemen on that side of the ball that are not afraid to lay the lumber when they have to.
Like Denver wide receiver Wes Welker found out early.
Welker was going over the middle on one of his crossing routes when Chiefs defensive back Brandon Flowers decided to give him a little reminder that not everything will come easily this evening:
You gotta keep your head on a swivel at all times there, Wes. I’m sure Flowers let him know that this may be an all night occurrence.
