Oakland Raiders running back Darren McFadden has been out of action as he deals with a nagging hamstring injury, but the team and fantasy owners alike are a little happier with the latest news from Raiders head coach Dennis Allen.

According to reports, McFadden is getting closer to a return to the field.

From Steve Corkran of the Contra Costa Times:

Unfortunately for McFadden, his return to the line up could be coming too late.

In his absence, Rashad Jennings has stepped up in a big way.

Jennings has been looking impressive since stepping in to the starting line up and he has very likely done enough to take over as the Raiders full-time starter. This means that, even when McFadden returns, the first-round pick will only be getting a share of the carries.

The news is positive for McFadden, but his status for Sunday’s Week 12 match up against the Tennessee Titans remains in question.
