There was some speculation that Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak could coach from the booth again in Week 12. Last week Kubiak coached from the booth in his first week back following a a transient ischemic attack (TIA) that resulted in him being hospitalized for a few days.

“I will be upstairs again,” Kubiak said, via the team’s website. “That was decided yesterday evening.”

That leaves both coordinators on the sidelines below.

From the team’s website:

"Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips, who was the interim head coach while Kubiak was out, will remain on the field and handle the red challenge flag. Offensive coordinator Rick Dennison will also likely remain on the field."

Kubiak conferred with doctors before making the decision. It is wise of Kubiak to continually talk with his doctors and take their input on the matter.

“I listen to them and talk to them,” Kubiak said. “I understand their decision. Just glad to get back and be out there and go to work. I’ll just keep listening to them and we’ll go week-to-week.”
