For fans of football, Thursday marks a day where you can feast with a hearty turkey dinner before collapsing on the couch in a food induced coma and taking in a triple-header of NFL action. There will also be some college football games on the schedule, but the NFL will be taking center stage.

As is always the case, the NFL will have games hosted by the Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys.

Detroit kicks off the Thanksgiving action by hosting the NFC North rival Green Bay Packers, while the Cowboys welcome the Oakland Raiders to AT&T Stadium. There will be a lack of throwback uniforms this year thanks to the NFL’s new rule that prohibits alternate helmets, so we won’t get the usual unique look.

However, if you are a Cowboys fan, the team will be wearing their rare blue jerseys, so keep your expectations in check.

In the nightcap on Thanksgiving, the Pittsburgh Steelers travel to meet the Baltimore Ravens in a key AFC North match up that will have plenty of playoff implications. It is as close to a must-win situation as you can get, so you will not want to miss this one.

You can stay tuned to FanSided.com throughout the holiday as we keep you up to date with all of the latest news and updates from today’s action.
