The Chicago Bears need a win to stay with the Detroit Lions atop the NFC North division. Fortunately for them, the 2-8-1 Minnesota Vikings are the next opponent on their schedule. The Bears will start Josh McCown at quarterback for his third consecutive start. They’re hoping he’ll be ready for the following week’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.

“I’m confident. I think Jay is confident. You have to leave yourself an opening, but there is no underlying information here,” head coach Marc Trestman said, via ESPN. “It’s week to week with the understanding that at some point in time he’ll be back.”

The Bears will likely have running back Matt Forte back against the Vikings. He sat out practice on Wednesday because of a hyper extended knee.

”I don’t think there’s an issue there,” Trestman said, via NFL.com. ”He looked unencumbered running around out there and got some reps.”
