After a hard fought game it looked like the Buffalo Bills were getting ready to set themselves up with a game winning field goal.

A key penalty in the red zone allowed the Atlanta Falcons to pound the ball into the end zone with over a minute left in the game to tie it at 31 all. In a game that was pretty much full of mistakes, it looked like at one point the Bills were doing enough to walk away with the victory.

When Buffalo got the ball back, they managed to pick up some yards before wide receiver Stevie Johnson had his name called. Johnson is a wide receiver that has had some clutch moments in his previous years with the Buffalo Bills. Today wasn’t one of them.

Johnson brought in a pass over the middle on a slant route and took it up field. He was able to blow by the defender who was covering him until he got to the second level of Atlanta’s defense. A defense that has been burned by both running backs so far in this game. Falcons defense got a huge break.

Instead of Johnson getting down after picking up enough yards, he was caught from behind and stripped. The ball bounced around but was picked up by strong safety William Moore with 20 seconds left in the game.

Buffalo and Atlanta are currently in overtime.
