NBA trade rumors are swirling throughout the NBA at the moment and just about every big to moderate name on a roster is subject to trade conversation whether it’s true or not. One of those names being talked about is New Orleans Pelicans three point wizard Ryan Anderson, but you shouldn’t believe the hype.

Despite there being some outside chatter about Anderson being traded, Pelicans beat writer John Reid reports that those talks have not occurred internally in New Orleans.

"According to sources within the team, they are not currently exploring any deals involving Anderson, although he has been the subject of trade rumors in the past week."

Reid goes on to state that Anderson is still a “critical” part of the Pelicans’ future and that there’s no plans to trade the star. Anderson still has two years loft on his inexpensive contract of $16.9 million. There was speculation that Memphis could make a swap with New Orleans that would exchange Anderson for Zach Randolph but Reid implies there’s no truth to this.

There are likely some moves that the Pelicans would like to make to shore up their lineup, but the young roster is still growing and the team is showing absolutely no interest in moving Anderson, who figures to be a big part of the team’s growth over the remainder of the season.
