During Sunday’s wild game between the Los Angeles Clippers and Minnesota Timberwolves, Clippers’ forward Matt Barnes was issued a flagrant 2 and ejected from the game.

During the third quarter of the Clippers’ 120-116 overtime victory, Barnes came over the top of Timberwolves’ star Kevin Love as he drove to the basket and fouled him hard. The play was initially called a flagrant 1, but was upgraded to a flagrant 2 and an ejection after the officials reviewed the play.

Barnes, his teammates and Clippers’ head coach Doc Rivers were upset about the call and it took Barnes a while to get off of the court. Because of that, Barnes has been fined.

“He’s earned his reputation,” Rivers told reporters after the game. “Having said that, you still go to do your job. If you think he did it, he did it, if you don’t, he didn’t. You still go to do what’s required by the rules.”
