Ahead of this weekend’s highly anticipated year-end show for the UFC, there are rumors circulating that former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar could be returning to the top mixed martial arts promotion in the world.

From the MMA Underground to social media, multiple rumors have surfaced that Lesnar will be attending UFC 168 and that his return to the octagon could be around the corner.

With the indefinite leave from MMA that pay-per-view draw Georges St-Pierre recently announced, having Lesnar back in the sport would be a huge boost to the numbers for the UFC. There is also the injury to current champion Cain Velasquez, which will keep him out of action until late 2014. Adding Lesnar back into the mix could make for some exciting match ups in the heavyweight division.

Of course, it is strictly a rumor and there has been no concrete evidence that Lesnar will be returning.

Regardless of what happens on the Lesnar front, you can be sure that UFC president Dana White will be asked about the possibility when he takes some time to speak with the media leading up to UFC 168: Weidman vs. Silva II, which takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday night.
