After being fired by the Chicago Bears a season ago, Lovie Smith took the year off from coaching. However, Smith is now looking to get back into the game and it looks like he may be returning in the division that he is familiar with.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Smith is expected to interview for the Detroit Lions head coaching vacancy.

There is also a belief that the Lions will be interested in Seattle Seahawks assistant head coach Tom Cable, San Diego Chargers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt and Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator and former Indianapolis Colts head coach Jim Caldwell for their head coaching job.

With the amount of talent that the Lions currently have on their roster, the job in Detroit may be one of the most appealing for coaches that are looking for an opportunity to be the leading man.
