Team USA Women’s Hockey Roster for Sochi Announced
The 2014 Winter Olympic Games are right around the corner. The time has come where we will start to see just who will be representing the United States in this year’s games.
Today, during the second intermission of the 2014 Bridgestone Winter Classic, USA Hockey announced the roster for the Team USA Women’s Hockey team that will represent the United States of America at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia.
Many of these women have represented their country in prior Olympic winning a number of different medals. Some of the names you will recognize are forwards Julie Chu, Kelli Stack, Brianne McLaughlin,and Meghan Duggan, who all represented the United States at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver.
Duggan will be the captain of this year’s team.
Another recognizable name on this list is Amanda Kessel. She is the younger sister of Toronto Maple Leafs right wing Phil Kessel. This will be her first year on Team USA.
