The Tampa Bay Buccaneers hired former Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith to be the tenth head coach in franchise history over the weekend, but his official introduction to the fans will come on Monday afternoon at the team’s facility.

An introductory press conference is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET at One Buc Place, as Smith returns to the Buccaneers franchise for the first time since being a linebackers coach under then head coach Tony Dungy.

When Smith arrived in Tampa over the weekend in a private jet, he was accompanied by his wife, MaryAnne, sons Matt and Miles, daughter-in-law, Kathleen, and grandson, Jackson.

The family will also be present as Smith is introduced to the fans.

Tampa Bay is hoping that Smith, who is a “player’s coach”, will be able to help turn around the team and bring some cohesiveness and enjoyment that was lacking when former head coach Greg Schiano was running the show in the Buccaneers locker room.

Smith comes in to the Buccaneers job with a 81-63 regular season and 3-3 playoff record as the head coach.
