Finland Releases 2014 Olympic Men’s Hockey Roster
Today, with the deadline upon us, Finland announced their roster of 25 players that will represent their country in the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia.
Finland, who took the Bronze medal in the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver, is looking to go for the Gold this year. That is evident by the names on their roster.
They have a dangerous goaltending trifecta. At the front of that pack is Tuukka Rask, who is currently tied with Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Ben Bishop for first place in the league in shut outs with 4.
Speaking of the Lightning, center Valtteri Filppula and Sami Salo will be joining their country this year in Sochi. Filppula has been a well-rounded solid player for the Bolts this year. Not only can he find the back of the net, but he is aggressive with the puck, solid in shootouts, and great in the faceoff circle.
This team will certainly be one to keep your eyes on in Sochi.
