The Miami Dolphins are attempting to fill their vacant general manager job after firing Jeff Ireland, and they will be looking to make a big splash. According to Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins have reached out to Baltimore Ravens assistant general manager Eric DeCosta about potentially taking the job.

It is hard to imagine DeCosta accepting the job, but at least the Dolphins are trying to make a big move.

Many teams have attempted to lure DeCosta away from the Ravens in the past, but they have failed to do so. Considering some of the good jobs that DeCosta has turned down in the past, leaving a stable environment for a place that has plenty of problems would be a very surprising move.

DeCosta is expected to be the heir to G.M. Ozzie Newsome in Baltimore, so he will likely stay with the Ravens until his time comes.
