When it comes to discussions about players and where they’ll play next year, few are discussed as much as New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony. With widespread speculation that he’ll opt out of his deal at the end of the year and become a free agent, many are wondering what’s next for Melo his NBA career.

Ask around and the common debate is about where he’ll play, but ask Melo about his future and he’ll say that winning a championship is still his focus. According to Al Iannazzone of Newsday, Carmelo Anthony is still hopeful that he can win a title with the Knicks.

It pretty much accepted that Melo will opt out of his deal at the end of the season, but it’s not out of the question that he’ll return to New York. The Knicks remain confident that they’ll be able to re-sign Melo at the end of the year but if he hits the free agent market, New York won’t be alone inviting Anthony.

So while Melo still wants to win a title with the Knicks, it’s ultimately up to him how big the window to do so is.
